Jaclyn Culver
I started out my career in health care working as an Emergency Medical Responder for BC Ambulance many moons ago. While that job didn’t last forever, it made a lasting impression on me. It made me realize my passion to help people rise up from difficult situations, and definitely guided my way into my career as a massage therapist.
My journey with massage therapy started in 2022, and I completed the 2200hr program at Vicars School of Massage Therapy in 2024. At the tail end of my second school year, I also completed our family by bringing our last baby boy earthside, and at that point I was undefeatable. I had to jump through a couple of extra hoops, but was able to become a BC Registered Massage Therapist in 2026. My journey getting here has been a long one, but good things take time.
About
My Goals
For Your Care
Putting you in the drivers seat
First and foremost, my goal as a massage therapist is to give the power to the people. I want to put you in the driver's seat of your healing journey. I believe that we can achieve this together through education, informed consent, communication, respect, and trust.
Accessible & inclusive
Secondly, I strive to make massage therapy accessible and inclusive. I believe that every person deserves to experience the benefits of therapeutic touch. I strive to educate and explain things in plain and relatable language. My space is open and welcoming to all people. I am here to provide you with the support you need and a judgement free space.
A companion in health
Whether this is your first massage ever, or your 100th massage, I want to be there as a companion through the ever changing journey of restoration and recovery. This might mean navigating old and new injuries together, learning new ways to manage stress, or just trying to get some classic “peace and quiet”. Whatever it is, I want to help you understand it and hold space for you in those moments.
Enhancing your mind-body connection
And lastly, I just have to say it. I can’t hold it back. THE MIND-BODY CONNECTION. Whew, that feels better. As a massage therapist, you have a minimum quota for how many times a year you need to say “mind-body connection”. (Kidding) But in all seriousness, this part is one of the hardest parts to understand and implement in the road to recovery. And I know you’re asking, what does “mind-body connection” even mean? I believe the very beginnings of it is reminding our very busy brains that the rest of our body exists. We have arms, we have legs, we have hands, we have feet, etc. As we start to dive a little deeper, you might notice emotions associating more with recognition of certain body parts. You might notice certain sensations in your body occurring in different moments of time. In today’s world, we have gotten really good at turning that connection off, and I want to help you bring mindfulness back into your life.
As we are all on this journey of living on this spinning rock flying through space, I am also on a never ending quest for knowledge. I am committed to a life of learning, and that is one of the reasons I enjoy massage therapy so much. There is an endless amount to learn about our bodies and how they function in this world, and I am always eager to learn new things. Using the most up to date and evidence based practice to provide care is very important to me. I am excited to get started learning and growing with my clients!
I want to meet you where you are at, and guide you to where you want to be. So let’s get started!
If you read this with some humor and were mildly entertained, I can’t wait to disappoint you in real life as you discover that I am really not this funny without many days of editing and revising!
Outside of my treatment space, I am kept very busy with my husband and our 3 kids. We live on a farm just north of Sparwood, where we love to roam wild and free. Teaching my kids to live with and appreciate nature is one of my favourite things to do. I am absolutely using my children to curate a bright future world that I want to live in.
When I am not trying to change the world through raising clever, strong willed, and free thinking kids, you can find me fretting about the current state of my house or doing my granny hobbies; reading, knitting, or baking. To balance myself out, I also like to feed my feral side. I love a good firewood day, hiking, any outdoor winter sport, running in the woods, and any type of gym fitness. I very much embody “Jac(k) of all trades, master of none”.
